 Subject: major water leak

We have a Dodge Dakota Quad 2000 - we have a major water leak. Source can not be visibly pin pointed - looking from underneath truck, the water appears to come from above the transmission and flows down around it onto the ground. The leak is a steady stream of water. Any suggestions of where this leak could be originated at?

Is it water or antifreeze? Check your hoses going to your heater core right against the firewall. Also check and make sure none of your freeze out plugs came out of the engine block. I think there is one or two freeze out plugs on the backside of the engine, right above the trans. Don't know what engine you have, So dont quote me on my assumption.

Freeze plug is most likely it....the truck is still under warranty so we are taking it to the dealer for replacement.

Robin,
Mine was doing the same thing.pressurized the system and found a leak coming from what looks like one of the air conditioner bolts on the firewall. looks like a black bolt..have a garage to check that before going after freeze plugs.. let me know the outcome...
