Message: saturday i will be purchasing some new tires for my '00 quad cab 2wd v6. i got a good price on a set of 235/75r15 Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires. i was wandering if anyone had ever tried these or know of anything good/bad about them. the dealer recommended them over the michelins that they normally sell. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Message: I have cooper cobras P255/60/R15's on my 99 rc v6 dakota and I have had them for about 7 months and they still look brand new! I have put about 5,500-7,000 miles on them and they look like I just bought them. So I would highly recomend them over goodyears (especialy) or any brand for that matter. I like how they are nice and wide and they make great contact with the pavement. In the winter I change them to a meaty skinnier tire though, so i have never used the Cooper Cobras in the snow? I did get the Coopers filled with nitrogen and this seemed to help me get a little better gas mileage, I would recomend the nitrogen if you plan to keep them mounted to the same rims for a long time. Hope this helps and I am kind of interseted in one of thoose TB when I get the funds.

Message: For the money, they are not a bad tire. It's designed to be a medium performance tire, and I think it has an All Season rating. But one look at the tread design will tell you that it's not great in the wet, and would be horrible in the snow. It's also a car tire, not a light truck tire.
I think there are better handeling and longer lasting tires available (like Michelin), but they are also more expensive.

Message: thanks guys. the dealer recommended them over the michelins that they normally sell so i think that i will give them a try. they have to be better than the bald Firestone Destination LE's that i have on there right now. we dont get a lot of snow here in northeast georgia, but if we do, i have an '85 jeep cj7 on 35's that i can use. thanks for the info.
