Subject: weird ass problem

my 3.9 had a gas leak today well i fixed that. Well last night i was driving and i thought i heard a weird noise but didnt worry about it. Today i drove to school and there was a weird noise "sounded like air was getting sucked in or out of a hose. When i press the gas at about 25 mph i lose all power what can the problem be.

Probably an air leak in your intake system.
If you can hear it when idling, open the hood and try to locate the source of the sucking noise.

the noise is coming from the back of the truck next to the gas tank,

Weird sucking noise....no power....sounds like the fuel pump is going out. I would hook up a pressure gauge up to the fuel rail and check that.

The hose to the evap system from the tank to the purge canister probably came off. Look either at the driverside frame just behind the cab(evap canister) or on top of the tank.

If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.

Couzindoug is probally right on that one, I just remember when my old chevy has a bad fuel pump it would whistle and it had no power.
