its an 2003 4.7L 4x4 and I put 285/75/16 and at about 60 on the speedo im realy doing about 75 or 80?

get a superchips tuner then.. gets ya a little performance, and the ability to adjust your speedometer to your tire size.

If you originally had 265/70-16, then when your speedometer indicates 58, you're actually doing 60. A 5 MPH difference would not happen until your speedometer indicates 125: then you'd actually be going 130.

If your vehicle had a different size, what was it, and we can figure it again.

christian, since your tire size was that small, i'm guessing you have a genI or genII dakota. If that's the case, you can change the speedometer gear in the transmission where the speedometer cable goes into the tailshaft.

there's only a tenth of a difference in those two sizes dave, i wouldnt worry about it.

235/75/15 = 28.9" diameter
255/70/15 = 29" diameter
