Subject: Water leaking in passenger side? '98 Dak

I've got a '98 Dakota I bought used recently, and we've had a lot of rain. I got in it yesterday and noticed a decent amount of water in the passenger side floorboard. Luckily I had husky liners so it caught it all, but I'm wondering what causes this? I heard this may be a common problem in the '98 Dakota. True? Is there an easy fix? Thanks.

Had the same problem in my 03, when it was new. We had to replace the carpet. Turned out to be a clog in the drain hose for the AC. Not good for a 1 month old truck! Even when you're not using the AC, it cycles on and off when you use the defroster on the cooler settings. Also had this on my 01 QC which turned out to be a kinked drain line. We see this a lot on 97 to 03 Dakotas. This is kind of hard to get to and a PIA, best bet is to take it to the dealer before the carpet gets ruined. Could also be something as simple as a kink or tear in the door weather stripping.
