Message: No Gasket, just RTV. The 7 1/4" hold 2 1/2 pints of lube. You can use an SAE 90 or 80W-90 or something in that ballpark. The grade is usually determined by the anticipated Temp range. A SAE 80W-140 seems to have the greatest range in regards to temp.

Message: RTV, Mobile 1.
Clean the cover and case well, remove the old silicone with a wire brush. Then wipe clean with alcohol or solvent of choice. You don't need a whole lot of sealant. If you get too much, it floats around in the oil.
Get a couple of bolts of the same diameter as the stock ones (I think 1/4"), but about 1.5" long. Cut the heads off, and cut a slot in the end. Insert them into the bolt holes, one on each side of the case. Place the silicone on the cover, and slide the cover over the studs. Now all the bolt holes are perfectly aligned, and the cover won't slide around when you install the bolts.
That trick works for a lot of things.

Message: .bob, great idea on the guide pins.
Randy, I have heard nothing but great things about MOPARS RTV sealant/gasket maker. I have even heard of other major companies using it over theirs. It is a little bit more expensive but well worth it.
