Subject: Air control IP: Logged
Message: 2001 Q/C when I turn the air control dial to defrost and leave the temp control on cold, I get air conditioning cold coming out. I check the tach and can see the increase in rpm, showing me that it using the air cond. unit. I take it off defrost and the tack drops. Any ideas?

Message: Your a/c compressor also runs when in 'defrost' mode.

Message: Has anyone had their evaporator freeze up with the control in the DEFROST setting. Mine does. I've checked the A/C pressures and the are within spec. Could it be the low pressure switch?
The only way around it is to pull the relay for the A/C.
My A/C works fine in A/C mode.

Message: I carefully put the knob halfway between floor and defrost and the compressor doesn`t kick in and the rpms don`t go to 750. I have to start from the floor position and ease it over,if I go past halfway even a little I have to start over. Still get plenty of defrost. 03 qc 4.7.
