Subject: Back-Up Lights Not Working ? '99 IP: Logged
Message: Hi, I just noticed that my back up lights aren't working on my '99 5.2L 5 speed Club Cab 4x4 Dakota. Checked the fuse, checked the bulbs, all other lights work okay, tail lights, brake lights, turn signals all okay. Is there a shift actuated switch or something esle that I could check ? Thanks for any help and advice. nforkdakota "nfork@direcway.com"

Message: I think there is a Reverse Switch on the trans it self. Don't qoute me on that though. If have a hayes or chilton repair manual look in there . If not buy one. Those books are a good investment for doing repairs by your self.

Message: There is a reverse relay switch. On my truck 1988 dak 4x4 5 speed it is located on the top left side of the tranny, below the shifter. I just relaced mine and it was a very difficult to do by myself another pair of hands would have been handy.
The part is cheap to get I think I paid 30.00. It is in a very hard place to get anything in to remove the switch or get the new one in.
