 Subject: Door lock problems

I have a 2003 Dakota R/T With power door locks. When I unlock the truck with the key the dome light does not come on and sometimes the factory alarm blares when I open the door. Also.. when I lock the door with the key it does not lock the passenger door and sometimes the power lock motor will kick the key back to the unlocked position..... it really turns the key in the lock cylinder. What could be the problem ? Bad door lock motor?

My '03 quadcab had the "phantom locking" problem and it was traced to water corrosion on some wiring in the door. The dealer fixed it at no charge as it was still under warranty. I think these trucks are prone to water seepage in the doors and the problems that ensue.
Now it has developed the foul odor from the A/C that seems to be another common problem that I found in the archives. I guess it's back to Maxwell Dodge! Oh well...I love my truck and these are minor glitches that all vehicles get.
