Subject: 98 Dakota Power Amp IP: Logged
Message: Can anyone tell me where the power amp is on a 1998 Dakota Sport? I was told this could be the reason my stereo doesn't come on. Fuse is in good shape and wiring appears to be hot (working properly). Multiple working radios have produced the same non working result in my truck (speakers pop when first powered up but no LED or no further sound and no response from cassette player).

Message: If you dont have the Inifinity sound system in your truck then you wont have a amp ..... IF you DO have it ... the amp is located behind the passenger kick panel running upwards towards the dash

Message: Ok since this is a basic dak (straight drive, only option is a/c) any other thoughts on the problem. All the power connectors and grounds seem to be functioning fine. Fuses are fine as well....heck, thing even lights up at night but no LED or sounds...
