Subject: running hot IP: Logged
Message: i have a 93'kota with a 3.9L. just flushed the rad last weekend. In the past i have noticed a small leak out the waterpump when it sat for over 2 days. so i added some of that prestone leak stoping stuff. i was wondering if it is running hot it seems to like it 1/4-1-3 almost getting half way on the temp gage. I cant remember how hot it ran before but that dosenot seem right. could that leak stuff clog up some thing or dose this temp sound right? now that i think about it i sould of never put that shißer in my truck. what to do

Message: You need to look in to this leak now > Most likely it's leaking out the weep hole or the shaft end > If this is correct and I'm betting it is , your pump is about to fail very soon > Spoting this leak is a good thing > If let go it is very posible you could put the fan into your radiader and things get costly > I myself will not install a rebuilt pump > Just asking for trouble if you do > In my shop I will not install a rebuild pump unless the customer signs a paper taking full responsibility should it fail > Do a test at the parts store on rebuilds > Go through all the pumps they have that fit your truck > Check the shafts > Some turn super hard > Some way to easy > Some have end play > You name it > There garbage >
