Subject: fuel light?
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 96 Dakota with the 22 gal tank. I just filled up as I knew I was running down and want to check if I had a fuel light. I finally didn't dare push it any farther so I gased up. I filled 22.something gallons. I would have thougt I had a fuel light. Is there any way to check if there is one or if it is burned out easily? Granted the tank may be slightly bigger than 22 gallon and the spout will take some fuel too but I would think the light would come on when the tank is down to 5 gallons or so which I would have been to. BTW filling this much fuel sure hurts the pocket book.

You should see the light when you first turn on the ignition and the computer lights up all the lamps for test.

I didn't see the light when I was looking for it. Where is it at on a 96? Or was it an option?

On my 95, it is located on the lower right hand part of the instrument panel, the light is a fuel pump. Mine is orange.

My manual says it comes on with 1/8 tank left (however, since replacing my fuel pump, mine comes on with abotu 5 gallons left).
