Message: This morning on my way to work it wasn't hot enough to run my A/C so i just left the temp knob on cold and turned off the a/c and within a couple of minutes this stink came out of my vents, it smelled like a wet dirty dog (i don't own a dog) i have never had a smell like this in a vehicle. I called the stealer and they said something about mold on the condenser that there was no cabin filter or anything like that on the dakotas that i could take it in and have some sort of dissinfecting done to get it taken care of i think its bs but does anyone have any ideas what else i could do.....By the way based from other posts i checked to see if there was any wet areas inside my truck any it is totally dry. Also the driveway im parked in i backed in so that the water could run out of the truck easier too, to make sure it had no water in in the condenser box
thanks in advance

Message: -get in the habit of turning off A/C just before you end your drive and the condensor will have a chance to dry
-for now, turn your air baffle to "re-circulate" (interior air) run truck and A/C fan, spray lysol or bleach/water combo into return vents, should kill any mold on condensor

Message: Your condenser coil is mounted to your radiator so highly doubtful the smell is coming from there, possibly could be your evaporator coil but still doubtful, my guess would be some moisture/dampness in your ductwork. The bleach/Lysol thing might take care of that, if so, I just wouldn't recommend sitting in the truck with the windows up while trying it.

Message: Yep, learned that from experience over the years. Turn off the A/C a minute before you kill the engine and let the fan run on high to clear the moisture out of the ducts. Usually eliminates any doggy smell. They can all do it if the moist air is allowed to collect in the ductwork.
