Subject: S-Bolt question IP: Logged
Message: I've searched around for a couple days and haven't found the answer to my question. I found the dimensions and have drawn a picture to scale. I have a question though. The dimensions I have are from this picture I found somewhere here.

My question is are these dimensions for the stock air hat or an aftermarket (round air cleaner, for example) air intake? I plan on using the stock air system until I go buy a round edelbrock 10" air cleaner. I just wanted to know what height would be long enough for the edelbrock with at least a 2.5" high filter. Thanks

Message: That should work for both the stock airhat (I think) and the Edelbrock air cleaner (p/n 1208) as long as you don't add a big spacer or anything to it...I'm using it with my Edelbrock air cleaner. If it doesn't work for your stock one, just switch back to the old bolt until you buy the edelbrock assembly.

Message: Thanks. I just went to home depot and bought 2ft of 1/4-20x12" threaded rod at $.99/ea.
Thanks again.

I just did that to my 5.2L in my Dakota a couple of weeks ago.
For the S bolt, I took the factory air cleaner hold down off and just eye balled it from there. It doesn't have to be exact, it was really quiet easy to bend. You just have to be careful not to snap the threaded rod, because it does break easily.
