Subject: Update rear springs for 04 4x4
IP: Logged

Message:
Has anyone had updated rear springs installed on
their 4x4 ?

Mine is squeaking in the rear when passengers get
in and out and as it drives across even slightly
uneven paved surfaces.

The dealer said he ordered updated rear springs
which are stiffer than what is on my 04.

Are you sure it's the springs?
Sometimes the shocks will squeak.

There are two sets of springs. Mine has the 1850lb. load capacity with standard being 1450 I believe.

Bushings anybody??? That was my squeek, just like you are
discribing.... and it was my rear leaf spring bushings... Some poly
bushings all around for 40 bucks cured it

Initially they said they were going to replace
the offending bushings. But when I picked it up
they said they had ordered springs and bushings
and would call once they arrived in 3 to 5 days.
I asked if I should switch to stiffer springs and
they said the new ones would be stiffer. Perhaps
they are the 1850 pound version.

I was looking forward to Dodge saying it was my
problem and buying air suspension for the rear.
