Subject: paint recall???
IP: Logged

Message:
I was wondering if any one here knows if there has been any type of paint recall on the Gen I/II. I have a 96 (some call gen 1 some gen 2) and when I was washing it I noticed some of the paint blew right off and left a chunk of primer exposed. I was wondering if this was common and if there was any type of recall for this. This has me concerned as the next time I wash I will have to be more careful around this area as well as other possible soft spots.

Yes it is very common.

No there is no recall. Dodge refuses to fix it.

Kinda burns me to my 94 dak is peeling and Im working on striping and repainting it now. I worked for a chebby dealership in the bodyshop for about 4 years during the early 90's and we did a LOT of chevy peelers. We would strip and repaint them if they were under 100k miles...

I knew it happened frequent which is why I thought there may have been a recall. My brother had an Olds Cutluss Supreme where GM paid for part of the repaint and I was hoping DC would do the same but figured they wouldn't.
