I have a 2002 dakota with a hard cover on the bed. Both gas springs have gone bad.Having a hard time finding new ones.Anybody have any suggestions? thanks. mike albright

I would go to a truck shop like toys for trucks or truckin usa or actually any place in your area that deals with truck caps. You might be able to go to a junkyard and get some off of a hatchback like a first gen ford probe. Just depends on the style you have and the way they mount to your cover, mine are mounted upside down so the oil always is on the seals and they wont wear out as quickly. If you go to any truck cap dealer that's the way they put them on, upside down.

I bought a pair for my 79 AMC's rear hatch from
NAPA. They had to order them.. Only waited one
day..
