A lot of it depends on how packed the sand is, if the sand is wet/dry, how aggressive the tires are, and if you have 4wd or not. Trailer wheels are usually pretty skinny and would sink in the sand pretty easy. I've gotten stuck here in Florida with my 4x4 in a big way in a pretty benign looking sandy puddle and had to get pulled out. The more I spun the tires, the more the truck sank and got stuck even deeper. I must have cleaned off 5-5 gallon buckets of muddy sand in the driveway from that one!

I also used to live in NY and sand can be a lot like driving in really deep snow. If you keep momentum there is less chance of getting stuck. if you go too slow, stop, spin the wheels too fast, or hit a mucky patch then u can get stuck pretty easily. When you do get stuck, you're usually in there pretty good.

it's kindof a roll of the dice... all in all, I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a relaxing vacation unless you have a new winch you are looking to try out :)

Best way to get through soft sand is aired down, wide, bald tires. Floats you over the sand rather than biting in.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way
