how hard is it to rebuild a 97 dakota v6 5 speed, tranny? It is making a metal to metal noise like the front bering is bad, so im gonna just replace all berings. What is a web site that has the design blueprints on it so i know what to look at.
Or is it easier and cheaper to buy another tranny?
Also what is the name of my tranny?(ax15,a535?)

Have you checked the release bearing? If it's failing it can make a lot of noise as well.

im sure its the main input shaft bering, im just gonna replace it. how much time, and how hard is it to do that. i think it is a ax15 tranny. the truck is a 2 wd
