I have a 98 Dakota with the 2.5 4 cylinder. I went for the four since I wanted something good on gas, and I have a question for other owners. On the gearshift there is a '5'. I have not been able to figure out what this is for. Best as I can determine, I can only put the transmission there when I am coasting downhill on the interstate if I am over 70mph, and even then '5' is only marginally better than just putting in the clutch. Any input from others?

Yea the '5' (fifth gear) is only used when there is a category '5' tail wind.
