ya don't. you get a pressurized can of white lithium grease and spray the heck out of every part of the gate that makes contact with the truck. the noise will stop.

But u can. If i hold the top of the tailgate i can move it back and forth slightly. Its not tight when it locks like it was.

Slam it good and hard, THEUFO1 (sounds like a porno, don't it?!). I took it in to the shop numerous times under warranty, even called DC to get them in on it. Got it back on the fifth or sixth try and it was worse than before. Still had that play. Then one day I got really mad and slammed it with all my might - closes tight so long as I keep doing that. Still makes some noise, probably due to the whole thing flexing on the frame, but it's a lot better than before. They swapped the latch and striker and all sorts of stuff at the dealership to no avail.
