Oh come on now Bob...the 2.7L V6 in the prototype "CrossFire" makes 275HP. You're grasping at straws here...

How do you make an extra 30HP from a 5.2/5.9L engine? Clean up the factory heads. How do you make an extra (minimum) 5-10HP from a 5.2/5.9L, add a reputable, ported throttle body.

How did they make a few more HP from the 2000 - 2001 4.7L's...they switched from 65mm to 68mm throttle bodies.

We've been down this road already Bob...leave it be.

Bernd.. did you get up on the wrong side of the bed to day.You know what, not ever one has the money to blow on a truck engine.Yes we have been down that road before, but most of the people on this web site only have a but dyno, and can't keep trying this part and that part tell they think they got 1000 HP out of a V6...leave that be!

Bernd-I drove a Liberty home yesterday, had it the night, took it back today. It had the 3.7 and 5spd stick...the engine that well replace the 3.9.It's ok,but it sure is not a 4.7...it like's the RPM's but you have to run it hard out of the hole to get any race speed. It will do a nice little tire burn in second gear. The Liberty is heavy, weight's about what the same as a CC Dak.

Bob -
Did I understand your message to mean you drove a Jeep Liberty home? I'm up here in Michigan and a buddy of mine has been waiting for the Liberty to come out. He's been told by dealerships not until April-June timeframe? Where did you come to find one so early? I'll pass the info on to him. Thanks

Blizzard--I work for DC.They let people drive them home for the night. The Liberty ride's very nice and it handle's great. The interior is very friendly,I love how easy it is to shift, very smooth and positive,a good feel.I think the bottle neck in the HP is the exhaust(but that can be fixed real easy)can't it.If you show the 3.7 who is boss..it will run.As I said,it love's RPM's just like it's big brother. It will be a great new JEEP.
