Subject: hard to find 893 fog light connector IP: Logged
Message: I've looked through several posts with no luck here so I'll go ahead and post it. I have a 2000 Dak with the factory fog lights which have not been working for years. The problem is a completely corroded connector between the bulb and the wiring. I know in Walmart they sell replacement connectors but I can't find one for the life of me to fit the 893 bulb. I could just go ahead and cut off the connector and solder the wire directly to the bulb and put some silicon around it to protect it but I'd rather just replace the connector. Any ideas where I can get one?

Message: What you're looking for is a bulb socket, not a connector. Sounds like a moot point, but when you use computers to look for stuff you have to use the right nomenclature.
Have you tried Waytek Wire?

Message: I've also looked for these same connectors from
many aftermaket suppliers. The lead you need is called a pigtail. The dealer part guy says they
don't list them for repair parts and I sure as
hell wasn't going to buy a whole front harness for
2 lousy connectors. A bone yard might let you in to clip a couple. Good luck.

Message: I've done a google search on every possible nomenclature and nothing!! It's so frustrating!!! I've gone to a few shops to try and ID it and nothing...I'm going down to a NAPA in Salt Lake tomorrow but I think my best bet is a scrap yard. OR...I may just solder the wire directly to the bulb somehow and hope it works.

Message: I believe I have two of these these connectors. The chrome Street Scenes valance I installed would not accept the factory fogs so I used others. I sold the lamps to another guy on this forum but I still have the connectors. If you're interested, post your email and I'll communicate with you on a deal.
