anybody know of a simple fix for the fan cutting off when stepping on the gas at all? my 4cyl dakota is really uncomfortable to ride in anytime of year as internal circulating fan cuts out when any load at all is sensed. what module gets unplugged/ connections unplugged? any help would be greatly appreciated, as i want to keep my '96 in the family.

Not positive but think you may have a vacuum problem. See if the air blows out the defroster on acceleration.

Yes, I think so. Could be a broken vacuum line or a bad vacuum reservoir, maybe switch. Some cars will cut out the a/c compressor when you mash it. but wont affect air flow in cab. Both are for safety reasons.

Some 4 cylinder engines are designed to turn off the AC when it is under a heavy load to free up more power from the engine.
