Subject: Have you had fog light problems? IP: Logged
Message: I have read through the posts to determine that my fog lights arent working because of the chincy switch dodge put in it. Anyhow, I took apart the switch assembly to find the switch is indeed broken. I have the switch assembly where it inlcudes the dome light roller switch. The fogs are on the same knob as the headlights. Turn the switch for headlights, pull for fogs.
Anyhow I ordered the part from newdodgeparts.com when I received the part it was just a push botton switch..obviously not the correct one for my truck (although they say it is for a 98-99 dakota) they are full of it. Now they tell me that I have to order the entire assembly even though it is just on small part of the assembly that is messed up.
Have you guys/gals ever had this problem...am I s.o.l. and out $65 - $85 for the entire assembly?

Message: I had the problem in a 01 Ram. Insted of spending
big bux for a overpriced junk switch, I just
went to my local Radioscrap store, bought a switch
and rewired the fog lights to that switch. The
added plus was now I could run the high beams plus
the fog lights at the same time if I wanted to.
