Subject: Manual lock replacement - 88 IP: Logged
Message: Good afternoon!
The driver side manual door lock on my 1988 Dakota doesn't work. I can get a new one for about $35, but the installation costs seem a bit high.
I took the door panel off to see what is involved in installing it.
It looks like it's just a clip and a screw, but it looks like you have to take the window out before you can replace the lock.
There doesn't seem to be an easy way to take the window out, either.
I couldn't find any web pages nor usenet posts on how to do this, but I hope someone here could point me to a page or a post with instructions on this.
Thanks,
Rob
