I just changed the front brakes on my wifes malibu. I know its a chevy but need this answered. I replaced the pads with ceramic pads and replaced the rotors. took it for a drive and seemed to brake really good. when I got home noticed a lil smoke comming from the wheel area. it stoped after a few min. and never got bad. I am thinking that this is normal for ceramic pads. but really dont know as I never used ceramic pads before. I know everything is fine when I put everything back together. car brakes very well now. please help

oh yeah first time really replacing disk brakes. I have done drums many times.

Thats cool, but keep in mind with those soft factory rotors the pads will eat them right up.
IF, it were me i would go with tuff rotors such as
brembo, powerslots, with soft aftermarket or factory pads.

the rotors are not factory. they are from auto zone. I think value craft they are. well next time I will put on other rotors. just more worried about the lil smoke comming from it. I just did a sec test drive and no smoke so I guess I am clear from a locking caliper(I hope lol).

clean the rotors with brake cleaner. I flooded them with cleaner and wiped off the excess then let dry before installing. maybe dumb but the air force taught me to follow directions =-Þ
