Subject: Thermal Tiles IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys. I was noticing the other day that the thermal tiles on the bottom of my Dakota seem to be out of whack. Specifically, there is some kind of fabric material protruding forth about 1 inch from a crack between two of the tiles. The thing is, I am worried about re-entering the earth's atmosphere and having the fabric create too much friction, possibly burning my dak to a crisp.
The clowns at the dealership said "that kind of thing is normal" on my dak. Idiots.
Should I just leave it and see? How easy would it be to yank that stuff out of there? Would that create any problems? Any ideas?

Message: While outside your Dak in space check to see if the ball-joints between the tiles are still good. If they are factory origionals, you may need to send out for replacements.
Also, avoid any debris by "wiggling your wookie" at the space station prior to departure.

Message: I had the very same problem on my last venture into outer space. So I did what any typical mechanical idiot would do. I called the dealer straight away. He told me that if I had ordered the upgrade with the flux capaciter in it then I would be impervious to the effects of reentry. But since I didnt do that i would have to call fed ex to see if they deliver to outerspace and if so they would send the replacement parts out.
On another note the little knob on my highly advanced mechanical window raising and lowering unit that is powered with good old weeties. Seems to have broken off with my window stuck in the down possition so right now i am holding my breath.

Message: Made sure I polished my paint well so the airflow on re-entry doesn't heat up the tiles. Have to get my AC recharged / leak tested at the space station before returning to earth. The wind buffeting with the windows open would be deafening!

Message: I purchased to "flux capaciter" upgrade along with the tow package. Although one would think 1.21 giggawatts is the way to go when displacing heat vs carbon decay, it is not. The down side of the flux package is the thermal tiles are 1/3 inch thinner to off set the temperal/temperal displacement.
Speaking of displacement, how can I get more HP for takeoff without burning out my "Mr. Fusion"?

Message: Commander Zo, or "Doc" make sure you fill Mr. Fusion with used soda cans and banana peels. And take off those metal sunglasses so you can see while backing up so you don't hit the trashcans!!!

Message: Okay, so I got under the truck and was able to easily pull out the excess fabric. However, when I got back in the truck there was a pack of bratty kids and a washed up astronaut that had taken over in there. And one of the little dweebs kept talking about a robot named JINX.
So anyway, these kids are telling me that the dak now has thermal curtain failure. wtf? where is this "thermal curtain" on the dak, and why has it failed? is there anyway i can do a quick fix without having to buy the new part?
I am ready to just ditch this thing. I hear White Sands, New Mexico would be a good place to visit. I hear Tom Skerrit is experienced in this kind of thing.
