I have no clue when it comes to tires. Right now I still have the factory GoodYear Wranglers. They seem OK but I've never had anything else. I'm looking for a good all season tire with no downfalls when it comes to snow or rain (i live in Wisconsin). I would like to keep the noise level no more than what the goodyears are giving me. This truck does absolutely no off roading. Should I just go with the goodyears again or can I do better? I'm trying to stay under $125 a tire. I have the 265 70 16 tire package on my truck.
What is everyone's experience with all season tires on your dakota?

Message: Those Wrangler's stink. I hated those tires and was glad to get them off.
You are probably going to hear a lot of people say this, if you haven't already, but the BF Goodrich All Terrain A/T is a fabulous tire. I could not be more happy with it. I can't say enough about how good it looks ...
But on top of that these tires give me a lot of confidence in weather. I've had them in very wet conditions, deep snow, ice, mud, dirt, sand, everything. I drive like a jackass through some of this stuff and my truck has never skipped a beat, which is a lot more than I could say when I still had those Wranglers on.
Also, I have been impressed with how the tires are wearing. I've had mine on for better than 50k and they have worn very evenly with regular rotation and I would guess that they still have another 15-25k despite the tread warranty (which I think was 50k).
The two downsides are 1) They can be a little noisey, to be honest, on the highway. That has never been a concern for me but I could see how it could be for some people. 2) I think they might be just within your price range, if not slightly above ... I haven't checked them in a while.
When searching for new tires for my wife's civic last month I searched a lot on epinions.com and found some great tire on information there for just about every imaginable tire...

Message: I Have Michelin LTX M/S tires on mine. They work great. Best all around tire I've ever used. Goes through blizzards without a problem, good mud and off road tire, too. Very quiet and smooth on the roadway. Handles corners well. Should get at least 60K, and probably closer to 80K out of them. Paid a little more than $125 ea, though. With tax, disposal fee, warrenty, yada, yada, yada, almost $150 each out the door.
