I once owned a '92 5.2 Dak. Around 160K miles, the engine would die for about 2 seconds, the "wake up". It wouldn't show on the scope at the dealer, but the problem was the PCM. I went with the Mopar Performance version; end of problem. If this relates to the other engines in 1992, I can't tell you, just a possibility.

Well may i suggest your starter relay
not the starter silanoid
there is a relay that flips when you turn your key. This can just unflip itself while driving. Please dont ask me to explain in great detail how that can happen. I had the same problem with a older model Audi that I had. I finally came to that conclusion and that fixed my problem. It should be located in your fuse box. Well that is if dodge has the same kind of starting engineering as Audis. I would not doubt it considering dodge is a German engineered vehicle. I cant promise anything but its a cheap easy replacement that you can do yourself if it is infact there. Course it may not even be part of a dodge truck i dont know for sure but its a easy check.

"I would not doubt it considering dodge is a German engineered vehicle." NOT IN 1992!!

Most common defect with these symptoms is corroded wiring underneath the relay box on driver's side fenderwell.
