 Subject: Radiant Red recall 1997 paint chipping

I just found a letter in the glove compartment of my 97 dak 318 cc which is from chrysler and states that some 97 daks with radiant red were recalled for defective paint. It says an important step was left out in the painting process (probably primer or clear coat or both) that would lead to excessive chipping.
I am the third owner of my truck and have wondered why the paint chips so easily, now I guess I know.
The letter says they will repair the paint if the vehicle is brought in by november 1997 so I guess I'm out of luck. Has anyone else heard of this?
