Subject: Was going to change front diff fluid IP: Logged
Message: today. I knew it was a tight job, however, I wouldn't even be able to start the upper bolts with my fingers. Might get it hot and get as much out as I can with a vacuum pump. This is looking like a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" deal!

Message: I know this isn't exactly the info you're looking for but I'll tell you what I did.
I recently took mine (2002 QC 4x4)) to the dodge dealer and had them do it. I had them change the fliud in the front and rear axles, they put the extra additive in the LS rear end and I also had them change and flush my auto transmission at the same time.
Anyhow it cost me $280 for everything, which is a lot more expensive than doing it yourself, but to me it's a good deal cause I didn't have to mess with it and it was done right. That and concidering how much a rear end or a transmission costs I think it was worth it.
I've read to many horror stories about "quicky lube garages" and such using the wrong trans fluid in dodges.
- just my opinion.

Message: I received a $99 4x4 front and read diff service coupon from my local Dodge dealership, not too bad of a deal if it's as big of a PITA as you are saying.
Funny thing, they also want $99 to service just the rear diff of a 4x2... go figure?
