Message: What does the "R/T" in the "MAGNUM R/T" stand for? I know I've seen some 2 wheel drive sports with the "R/T" on the back, but never a 4x4 SLT. So, just out of curiosity, what does it stand for?
Thanks

Message: The R/T stands for "road and track". Alot of people think it stands for "race truck" even guys that work for dodge dealers , weird . And NOBODY should put an R/T on there truck if it is not a real R/T , thats like buying a V-6 camaro and putting SS emblems on it , stupid.

Message: Actually it stands for rapid transit. In the musclecar days, a few makes and models had this special badge to declare their performance. Challenger r/t etc. It was known as the rapid transit system. Dodge has found $$$ in bringing back the past in some of its models, i.e. the pt cruizer and has found that there are some buyers interested in performance driven machines. This year dodge has released r/t versions of all of its major line, from neons to intrepids and given them this badge.

Message: This rapid transit thing has been kicked around here befor. The R/T according to Dodge press releases means "Road/Track" The Rapid transit posters in the early 70's applied onlt to Plymouths and the R/T had been used on the Dodge line prior to that marketing campain, they said it was "Road/Track" back in 1968 as well. There was a team of Dodge showcars/concept cars that toured the country under the Rapid Transit banner but I think if Dodge says it's Road/Track then that's what it is.
