I am really happy to have found this site recently. I was experiencing some trouble with my Dakota and I found this site through Google. My first problem turned out to be a cam sensor. I found out how to display the trouble codes and what the code was in reference to. I took that info with me when I went to the dealer. They found the trouble to be exactly what was indicated by the code. The next week I was driving and the check engine light came on again. I again turned to dodgedakotas.com and found out the codes that were coming up indicated bad injectors. The dealership on the otherhand assured me the injectors were fine and that I needed to replace the bad computer which was $600 to $700 dollars. I asked them why they couldn't just reprogram it and they said it was the module itself. It didn't make any sense to me that this could be the problem. I did a search using the keywords "injectors" "Computer" as well as the codes that were coming up. I found that a member had posted his experience with the same problem and that a bad throttle position sensor could be sending voltage spikes to the computer causing it to beleive there is an injector problem. I went to Autozone, bought the $35 TPS and installed it. Bingo! Problem solved. Thank you to everyone who is contributing good information to this site.

It sounds so unusual for a Dodge dealer to try to rip off $800.00 from one of it's customers. Very unusual indeed.
