Message: Most likely your throttle position sensor, next time it does it work the throttle a bit, like press and depress, a few times and then let it settle down again on cruise, if it improves then just replace your TPS and it'll be fine.

Message: I hope this does not apply to your DAK. Service Bulletin 08-035-00. Applicable to 2001 Standard and Club Cab built on or before Sept 12, 2000 and Quad Cab built on or before Sept 5, 2000. Vehicles with 4 Wheel Antilock Brakes. Vehicles experience surging with Cruise Control engaged at speeds 46-47 and/or at 68-69 mph. Bad news is that the fix is to replace the Antilock Brake Module.

Message: Thanks for all the replys, now i'm having problems with idle at start up , when i start truck idles about 1500 rpm then 600 rpm then back to 1500 rpm, before it finally settles down to normal , the cruise seems to do the surging at all speeds so hopefully not the brake module , i didn't find a hole in vaccum hose , so i'm going to try the tps sensor and hope that works . if any one thinks it might be something else causing this new problem please let me know thanks tim

Message: It's the TPS for sure. I had the same problem with my '99.
Dodge wants over $70 for the TPS, but you can buy it at Auto Zone or NAPA for about $30.
