 Subject: obdii codes

Okay, my check engine light came on, and I got the codes, and found out what they are, but it means nothing to me.
It says "evaporative emission control system purge control valve circuit shorted"
Can anyone explain to me in plain english what this means?????

If I recall correctly, there is a solinoid that opens and closes to control air flow to or from the charcoal emissions canister. That solinoid is probably bad. It should be called something like vapor canister purge solinoid
