Subject: tonneau cover - what do you think? IP: Logged
Message: Saw this cover on ebay

Never seen this style before. I really want velcro but don't want to pay what they are getting for them. Anyone had any experience with this style of clips? Seems like it would be easier than the buttons.

Message: I helped my son install one like this from truck tech, very similar to the one you are considering. Instaling the frame rails and cross braces was fairly simple. The hard part was stretching the cover over the bed and getting all the snaps to align.
I would certainly have a friend help with istallation. I think you will find it's not to difficult to install. Make sure and read the instructions. Lay all piece out first and identify driver side from passenger side. It should take a couple of hours if you paln it out and careful about installation and get everything alighed properly. Then you can step back and be proud of your installation and increase your gas mileage too. Good Luck.

Message: I have one of those Tonneaus and I tell ya what...for the money, it's pretty damn nice. Ain't had a problem with mine...well, not at the fault of the manufacturer. I had to shorten the width of all my bows and the two end rails by about 1/8" due to bending the living sh!t out of my bumper/bed driving down a ditch...but other than that it was great.
wadak is right though...getting that sucker stretched on there is a bit of a PIA and a friend will make the installation go a lot quicker. Mine took about 1 1/2-2 hrs and that included having to cut 5 bars down to size (which was trial and error in the beginning). I'd guess you could get it done in an hour or so...might take a lil more time depending on how easily you get the cover stretched on there.

To sum everything up:
I'd recommend it.
