Message: Went to lower the passenger window ( at least it's the passenger window ) on my 98 yesterday and it came off the track or something. Was able to get it back up but I still need to fix it. Too hot here right now in AZ to take it apart & see what broke. If someone else has had this problem I would like to know what it is. Thanks in advance.

Message: I posted something a week or so ago about mine. It broke the cable hook on mine.
Cheap engineering. However, I've abused my truck a little when I took it offroad a few times... :p

Message: I was in a wrecking yard just last weekend, getting some parts and special pieces for a future project, and I noticed a (severely) wrecked '98 RT's electric window does not use a cable/winch setup, it uses a kind of scissors mechanism. Looks to have a bit more stout than that cable thingy. Might be worth a check to see if that type mechanism will fit in place of the winch type electric window mechanism.

Message: I just bought an aftermarket scissors type replacement for my drivers door on Ebay from a company that sells out of California. The company is called CarParts Wholesale and their website is www.carpartswholesale.com
The one I bought was listed on Ebay and I got it for $22 but its on their website as something like $50
Try this:

Message: my first replacement was from a hand crank one. I just had to bolt my electric motor onto it and over the gears and viola, it worked. Its the bent tracks or bad weatherstripping that is destroying my regualtor hardware. I replaced it all once alredy but started having the problems all over again after about a year.

Message: Mounted on the door pic would be hard since its inside the door frame.
And I stand corrected on the manual vs. power regulator setup. I was told my first replacement was from a manual setup but after receiving my replacement from the site I listed above, its obvioulsy not the same as the power setup.
Not having any luck finding a power window regulator online except for RockAuto who wants upwards of $80 for it with a new motor too. Was hoping for a somewhat cheaper price considering I have been through 2 already (stock and used replacement).
