Subject: Road Tires - Feedback IP: Logged
Message: Baby needs a new set of shoes - since my
Dak came with 235/70/15s, I'm looking at
255/65/15s for a little more roadholding
without messing with diameter (speedo
accuracy) too much.
TireRack list the Pirelli Scorpion Zero as a
contender; an alternative is like original -
Goodyear Eagle LS (not impressive).
If I stay with original size, my options increase
significantly, but is it worth it to go with a plus
size - or would 255/60/15 work, too?
Note: wet traction is very important here.
Any advice?

Message: If you have 8 inch rims, you can go with a 275/60/15s. They look good. I added a set of Mopar fender flares to my 2wd after putting these tires on, though. Wanted to keep water and mud from splashing up the side of the truck.

Message: I sent some pics in to be posted on this site a couple of weeks back, but still haven't seen them up yet. In the meantime, I can send you some pics via e-mail- just give me your e-mail address. I've never had any rubbing, even under load (3 passengers, full bed, and pulling a loaded 5x10 ft. trailer.

Message: The Pirelli Scorpion Zero is a great tire for this truck (I have 255/55/16)you will love the cornering ,good in the wet for a tire this wide, dry traction is impresive and is not undriveable in snow. The side walls don't roll over when you corner hard like they do with a car tire, they are made for a trucks high center of gravity.

Message: Sounds like you're going wider, but in case you change your mind Michelin X-Ones have been really good to me. Lasted twice as long as the original Eagles or crumby Dunlops I had, are better in the rain and dry than the Eagles by a small margin and MUCH better than Dunlops and they come with a mileage warranty. So I just got a new set ... for half price. Can't beat that with a stick! Well you could ... but that would probably void the mileage warranty. :-)
