Has anyone else noticed the paint on their front bumper chipping off?

I have a 2000 Dak Sport w/ the black bumper and there's all these little spots where the paint has chipped off and they're beginning to rust! Is this the norm? Has anyone else had this problem? It's going to look like total sh*t in no time. :(

Live up in Canada, At a dealer where i bought my Dak i saw the new 2001 Daks with these new plastic bumpers, its some sort of hard black plastic, I'm not sure if its covering the steel bumper or what. I'm going to try a get more info on them, I have the same chipping and rust on my bumper.

Went to the dealer today to inquire about the plastic bumper. They do have it up here and it might cost about $400.00 cdn. The only problem is Dodge is not sure if it comes seperatly or if its attached to bottom section where the fogs are if it not it might only cost $90, if it is attached its going to cost $400. The dealer is suppose to call me tomorrow, i'll let you guys know the end result.

My dad has a 2000 v6 std 5sp dak and I just painted the front bumper the same as the color of the truck and put on 3 rounds of clear because I didn't want to be repainting the crappy cheap black paint thats on there from the factory. So my advise is if you want to keep it black take and sand it on paint it the right way and you shouldn't have to worry about chips. If you can't do it yourself there are bodyshops that will do it cheap if you sand it yourself and just have them paint it.

I have a 97 and i'm on my 3rd bumper the dealer replaced the other 2. You have to check to see if it's stone chips or a bad paint. Mine was blistering but no holes so it was easy to show the dealer it was a bad paint.
