Subject: Why does this happen: vac cap blows off IP: Logged
Message: I have noticed my 97 Dak 3.9L 2wd running rough a couple of times. Both times I checked and the vacuum cap on the manifold vacuum fitting on the passenger side had fallen on the top of the engine, allowing air to be sucked in. I put it back on, and it happened again.
I decided to put a new cap on and to hope the problem was gone. However I thought I should ask to see if there is any other explanation that makes sense [and that I should be worried about] other than that the cap was too loose and vibrated off. The driver side one is fine.
Thanks for any insight you can give me.

Message: It was probably just dry rotted and loose, theres no other way for it to come off unless your engine is supercharged or turbocharged!
