Subject: Outside TYemp gauge misreading IP: Logged
Message: My on-board temperature gauge is off 7-10 degrees on my overhead console in my 2001 Dakota Sport. I have both a 2001 Durango and a 2001 Dakota Sport so I have something to compare them to. As the Durango seems right on, the Dakota reads differently by 7-10 degrees from the Durango. What is wrong? Do I need to replace an outside temp gauge on the Dakota?

Message: Swap temp sensors between the vehicles. If the temp readings move with the sensor, you know what to do. If the temp readings remain the same on the vehicles, well, that's another thing altogether. Temp sensor is just to the right of the radiator in that little gap area on the radiator support.

Message: I would replace the sender. If that doesn't work, I'd just do the math in my head.
