Looking to get a roll pan for my '04 Dak. I'm getting alot of mixed reviews on each of these materials. Sir Michaels has a steel pan while Street Scene has the urethane. I need someone with some experience to give a little advice. Thank you in advance for helping me out. Much appreciated.

I find fiberglass and urethane to be easier to work with. You have to use the proper materials, of course, to match the base material. And these materials are differant. Using steel filers and standard mix paints on fiberglass gives you crappy results. But waves and imperfections are easier to fix than steel.

The end result is the same, and nobody can tell the differance by looking at it.

As with any aftermarket part, some companies make a quality part, and some don't.

IMO, go with the Sir Michaels steel. I have a 99 and have one of their pans on my truck it has been there since 99. Heavy gauge steel, recess for lic plate and has a plate light. My body man builds rods and was impressed with the quality.
I first ordered a fibreglass and returned it immediatly, the mounting flange was too thick for the tailgate to open. Even with the steel I had to use button head bolts to install to clear the tailgate.
You will not be dissapointed.

I have a fiberglass, was a pain to get it to fit, and tailgate still hits it when it is being opened. Once while I was working under the truch I bumped it with my knee and cracked it. Dont get fiberglass, I just ordered a Sir Michaels.
