Message: hey all,
well in my atempts to recahrge my AC I have discovered a slight snag, First the recharge kit says to atatch t the low pressure side, sounds easy since it is suposed to be cool. however the pressure tester wont fit on it. What happens is that it alows a small spray of freon into the air. Is there some sort of adapter that I need? Also is there a way to tell if the AC is from the factory or if it is an aftermarket brand? Thanks in advance.

Message: The kits that are sold to individuals are r-134 refrigerant and the fittings are different from r-12 the old type. I dont know if yours has r-12 or not but that would explain why it doesnt fit. Just look around on the stickers under your hood to see if its R-12 or R-134.If its R-12 you need to buy a conversion kit.

Message: On the underside of my hood is a sticker that says it takes R134. The pressure tester is the only thing that doesn't fit right. I can connect the recharge kit no problem, I just don't want to overfill the AC. Thanks for the assistance.
