Subject: Leaking NV3500 IP: Logged
Message: I have an '04 Dakota 2wd 4.7 with the POS NV3500. The truck has about 17,000 miles on it and for the last few days it has been leaking fluid from the trans, seems like from the top portion of it, the output seal is dry. It is leaking enough to puddle up. Anyone else expierence this?

Message: My 2000 Dak 4.7 5spd 4x4 at roughly at 17,000 miles my input shaft started to leak, that was fixed under warranty. And now at 45,000 miles it's leaking again. I also noticed a wet spot on the top of the tranny. I'm at the point now I'm going to drive it until it gets worst and then get the tranny rebuilt.

Message: Make sure the shifter is tightened down if you are getting a leak up top.

Message: I know I'm responding to one of my own old posts but I just wanted everyone to know that b1llyw was correct, all the shifter bolts were hand tight. Thanks for the help.
