Message: Anyone have any ideas on where to mount an XM unit in my 2004 Quadcab. Pictures would be great.

Message: I mounted my Roady2 using it's mount and double sided tape in front of the overhead console. Just take down the console to run the wires through the headboard and down the door pillar. It's a real clean looking install.

Message: did you use the fm modulator thing to get the signal then? How about the power source? Extend the wires?

Message: Mounting mine in a 5 speed standard 03 quad cab I used a PIE adanter to feed the non-RF outputs from the XM automobile adapter into the radio as an external CD changer. (This works on 03 and several other radios with the mode switch. You can check with Crutchfield for available adapters) I used a Pro-Fit mounting adapter to put the XM above the radio. I had to file the dash face so there was room for the Pro-Fit and the cabeling.
If you post your e-mail I can send you a picture.

Message: All the wiring is long enough to run it the way I did. The roady2 has to use the lighter plug in because it has a converter in it to make it 6v. I have been using the wireless fm modulator feature on it, but it sucks. I have a wired modulator coming in the mail today that works through the antenna connection. But if you go that route, make sure you go to circuit city or someplace to get the antenna adaptors, cause the dakota antenna connection is different than standard.
