 Subject: hood stuck HELP

The hood on my 93 dakota v6 is stuck. Pulled out release and will not open. Release cable at handle is slack but appears not to be broken. Any tips on getting it open;

Push down on the hood a few times and see if you can break it loose

Pushing down on the hood is useless. Let me rephrase the question. If the hood release cable is broken how can you access the locking mechanism to release the hood short of destroying the hood.

I'm not familiar with the '93 specifically, but on many vehicles you can go in through the grille with a screwdriver to trip the release.
