Subject: A/C fittings IP: Logged
Message: I just finished replacing the heater core in my '01 Quad Cab 4.7L. Everything went back together smoothly. I have a question about the A/C Compression Fittings. They didn't seal all the way, theres a small leak. Do I have to use the tool that I used to take them apart to properly put them back together, or do they just push back together? I'm talking about the compression fittings that come from the evaporator, and are right near the firewall. Thanks

Message: Put new O-rings on before you put it back together, that might be your leak. Autozone carries the complete O-ring kit for 5 bucks.

Message: Yes, you must always use new seals when disconnecting lines. Pre-oil them slightly when assembling.
