Subject: WTB 98 40/20/40 Seat and Carpet IP: Logged
Message: I just picked up my first Dakota today and it is a nice truck but was neglected inside. The seat springs are shot and you nearly sit on the floor. I would like to replace the whole bench (I have the 40/20/40) with one in nicer shape. The carpet badly needs replaced too. Mine is a '98 with automatic tranny...everything is a Grey color.

Message: For the springs, I found that doubling up the springs at the outer edges of the seat (40-20-40) create a more bolstered feel and help keep yer ass from hitting the floor. My 260 pound ass will collapse a new seat, but the doubled springs help a lot. Not too familiar with the Dak, but the fullsize bench seat has heavier duty springs for the center section, so I used them on the drivers side of my new 40-20-40 seat that I got to replace it. BTW I have a 2001 Fullsize Ramtruck but I bet the seat design is similar to the Dak.
