I would like to ask if anyone is having problems with Sam from socaldakota.com? I placed an order with Sam a month ago now for my 4.7 70mm throttle body, and it has yet to arrive.

I have been in contact with bruce from F&B and Sam from solcaldakota, but both of them tell me my order is eather on backorder, already shipped, or they do not have it on there books. Sam's wife has been very friendly on the phone, but seems to be unable to help with my problem.

So I am asking if anyone else has ordered a F&B throttle body for Sam in the past month, if so has it arvied yet, and if not what has been told to you about the delay.

Sam is clearly a very nice guy, but seems to be compleatly overloaded with dakota orders at this time. His voice mail has been full for the past day, and his wife seems to be quite busy thoughout her day too (understandably).

If anyone has any information to share, or if Sam or Bruce would like to reply to this thread they can feel free.

I am sorry that it has had to come to me bringing my problem out in the open, but maybe that will get it resolved a little quicker. If Sam or Bruce do not feel comfortable repling on the board they can feel free to e-mail me at my address on this post.

Hey Ben... we all get busy sometimes, and in this world of production, people get behind, and things take a little bit longer to get, and patience works best.

Yes I am very slammed with business, as is F&B. Your order was processed--- the couplers weren't in yet with F&B, they may have been in the middle of a production run (it happens-- you make X # of throttle bodies-- you run low-- you then start a new production run--- 50 TBs+ @ a time-- that can take a couple weeks to get finished from cutting the billet alum cyl into piece, then CNC work, polishing, anodizing, then assembly).

It's difficult to respond to all of you calls, concerns-- you called, on average 3 times+ a day for 2+weeks -- and I had the same response each time, that I was waiting word it shipped from F&B, and that when it did go out I would get back with you.

You bombarded F&B with calls, emails, just the same. Which, just help it get to you any quicker.

YOUR throttle body was shipped Saturday, USPS-- Priority mail... You have received it by today, 6-9-05... There's no tracking #s with USPS-- only a delivery confirmation #--- Email or call (you have my #) if you haven't received it by today--

I paid Sam over $350 for the sale and shipment of a new 70mm F&B TB in late October-Early November of 2004 and haven't received it nor had little to any type of correspondence. I got a hold of him in January and he stated that he was not sure which size I wanted to order for my 2004 4.7 Dakota, a 70mm or a 72mm. Sam stated that that was the cause for the delay. So, I let a few weeks past and called him around mid-April. He stated that it was shipped a few weeks ago (in March) and there were delivery attempts made to my apartment but I was not home to sign for it. Of course, there were no notices left at the door or in my mailbox, nor did I have any tracking information regarding this package. Since Sam did not have the item returned to him and because I did not receive it, Sam said that it was lost in the USPS system. He also stated that this is only the 2nd time something like this has happened (items were lost in the mail). From our last conversation in mid-April, he stated that another TB would be shipped out as soon as possible. Up until this day, calling every few weeks, I left pleasant messages on his voicemail stating of my dilemma leaving him a callback number but to no avail, I haven't heard from him. What's the best way to contact him? I tried both telephone and e-mail. I called 877-4-MOPARS & (619) 274-1292 and e-mailed @ performanceparts@cox.net. What time of the week/day is the best to reach him? Thanks in advance.

I posted this last week at dakotausa.com. I received some advice about trying to get a hold of Sam and had no such luck. Since you, Ben J., received a response, I hope that I hear from Sam also.

Arthur--- I got your last message via voicemail on Wednesday (voicemail full, and wasn't able to retrieve it), to my knowledge it was sent out from my supplier, and apparently it was not (I do not ship them directly anymore).

I can issue you a refund, credit, or-- get you the TB.

Contact me after 3:00 pm pst today-- and I can resolve this.

Dear Sam,

I recived my throttle body and it installed great. I am very happy with the purchase, but I do not appreciate you acting like I was not patient. I called you aproximatly 15 times over the course of the 5 weeks it took to get my TB. The only reason I had to call so many times is because you and you wife told ME that YOU would call back within a hour, and never did.

I recived a total of 3 calls from you guys all three time saying that the TB was shipped, which was clearly not the case.

Also regarding F&B, since you know Bruce so well you would obviously know that his phone has NO message machine, and does not usually answer the phone. I called him a total of one time, and he did not answer (as expected). So I fired off 1 e-mail to him which he replied VERY quickly. He stated that he had some e-mail problems, not your fault, but did not have my order on the books. This was AFTER your wife said that my TB was shipped. Over the course of 1 week I sent a total of 4 e-mails to Bruce all but one which had responses, and updated my order.

I do appreciate you responding to my thread, and I would buy from you again. But I do not appreciate the inference that I was unpatient and nagging you. You promised me my TB to me by May 31st. When it was the 24th and I had not heard anything I called you. You and your wife were unable to tell me the status of my order, beyond that, you are waitng for F&B, when the actual truth is that Bruce did not even have my order.

In the end the product was great, and your price was unmatched. I am dissapoinded by all of the hicc-ups along the way, but I thank you for supporting the Dakota community.

Have a good month, no ill will toward you.

For those of you who are having trouble contacting Sam, try using his AOL screen name. This has been a very way to get in contact with him. I usually send a message and he almost always sends a reply back.

I have voiced my concern with him. I had problems on my end reading his email responses (Outlook Issue). He has called me back and said my TB would be shipped yesterday or if I still didn't want it he would credit my Visa account.

They only ship out by USPS which is barely trackable. We'll see!

I had called over there about 2 weeks ago. I talked to a woman. I had told her that he had offered to drive my truck and point out any problems (since I have been experiencing overall power losses). I asked if he could do just that, drive it and recommend what course of repairs should be done on it (by him). She said that he would call me that day or the next. Well two weeks later, no phone call.
I would have thought he would hope right on the phone since it would benefit his check book. We shall see. I hope that he calls soon. I don't know of any shops in my area that has Dakota specific knowledge. The dealers here don't know squat.

I too had ordered from Socal and still waiting for my order which was placed back in September. I attemped to make contact with him every way possible ( im, email, phone) and have not been able to make contact. I contacted BBB in his area and they are also waiting for a reply.

You could file a complaint online or call (858)496-2131, that is the San Diego BBB branch that handles complaints for that area.

My complaint number is 30028059. I`m just trying to get either my money back or the item I ordered. I was told in the only email I received that it would be sent from the factory and upon contacting the factory, I was told they had none of my information and would call him for info.That was two months ago and you would think they would get a reply. They also have had problems making contacting him. I recently filed the complaint and have not received any notification yet.

I will have to wait the 30 days and let Visa get to him. I wish I would have searched the board before I made this sale. I will keep everyone updated. But I can't believe we are the only ones experiencing this type of fraud and that there is no Forum on this board dedicated to Internet ripoffs. I only found out about his website because of posts on this site. Any Admins wish to input?

If that's really you! Do you really believe Sam. You placed your order in September!!! This is unbelievable, absolutely the worst possible customer support I've ever heard of anywhere. And it's suddenly O.K. because he got around to calling you. He tried to call me 4 times on my cell phone yesterday and left no messages. No messages on my home phone, and no response to emails. Looks to me like someone doesn't want to leave evidence. It took him less than a week to process my Visa and take my money, although that is automated, it still requires some input to process. I hope he calls tonight I just hooked up my cell phone recording device and will let him know that any direct communication will now be recorded.

Hey Sam, give me a call tonight!

So far Ben J. is the only person to receive anything on this thread. I guess he was lucky and got his merchandise in only 5 WEEKS!!! He wouldn't even meet up with bykerdude59 who is the other person to receive merchandise (My Bad), and he is local.

I'm sorry for the lenghty post but this is the second time I ran into this kind of trouble with Internet Sales. This is exactly why I try to get items from Summitt, Jegs, PAW, etc. I don't have this kind of hassle with legitemate companies. But in the end it was my fault for not researching his credentials (BBB) and calling first to see what kind of customer service I could expect.
